UNDERSTANDING THE 2-DAY DESERT TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO ZAGORA

During this two-day excursion from Marrakech to Zagora, you will see camels, Berber towns, and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

This two-day journey is ideal for people with limited time, since it takes you from the bustling city of Marrakech to the quiet Draa Valley, where Berber peasants continue to live as they have for centuries.

DAY 1:MARRAKECH - KASBAH AIT BENHADDOU - OUARZAZATE - DESERT NEAR ZAGORA

The tour will start with a 4x4 departure from Marrakech in the early hours of the morning. While traversing the magnificent Tizi n'Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains (alt 2260 m). Observing the fortified Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, which has a number of beautiful Kasbahs, while taking in the spectacular view of the surrounding countryside is one of the highlights of our journey. After a little break, we will continue to Ouarzazate, sometimes known as the "Hollywood of Morocco," where we will have lunch at one of the area's numerous restaurants. After that, we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah and then travel through the Draa valley to reach Zagora, our last destination.

After a little break in Zagora, we make our way to where our camels are waiting to begin the 90-minute ride into the dunes that will lead us to our desert camp in the Nakhla dunes, where we will have dinner and spend the night in tents.

DAY 2: ZAGORA CAMEL RIDE - MARRAKECH

After an early rise to see the sunrise over the sand dunes, a traditional Berber breakfast will be given, and we will ride camels back to continue our exploration of the local area. After a shower in Zagora, the journey will begin via the Draa Valley and the Atlas Mountains. Numerous picture opportunites and interesting landmarks will be available throughout the route. We will return to Marrakech in the afternoon after having lunch in Ouarzazate.
